The flag is yellow with party emblem in the middle above the
blue initials HSLS. The emblem consists of three superimposed
rotated squares, with word liberali in white script.

HSLS is the first party formed in 1989 when that was made
possible (many politiciance now in other parties were initialy
members of this one, most notably president Tudjman just before
he formed his own party). During 1990's was strongest oposition
party, and in 2000 in colation with SDP and four other parties
won the elections. Suffered number of fractations, most notble
when LS was formed, and recently when number of her ministers in
the government broke up.

HSLS, Hrvatska socijalno liberalna stranka (Croatian Social
Liberal Party): Established: Zagreb, 20 May 1989. Members: 1995
(9.000), 1996 (12.500), 1998 (13.000), 1999 (14.000), 2002
(20.000), 2004 (20.000). Members in Croatian Parliament:
1992-1995 - 16 (11,59%), 1995-1999 - 7 (5,47%), 2000-2002 - 23
(15,23%), 2002 - 15 (9,93%), 2003 - 14 (9,27%), 2004 - 2 (1,32%).
Member of LI (Liberal International), and ELDR (European Liberal
Democrats Party - <www.eldr.org>).
The party was the main coalition partner to SDP
in 2000-2004. Due to several secessions and loss of votes it
seems that the party has ever less influence...
